| I think Mike's intent was to generate some information about some rallies and what people look for. I've never been to Laconia even though it's the closest of the "Big 3" to where I live (when I'm not traveling). Maybe I should try it this year. I expect it to be somewhat like Daytona. If anyone has been to Laconia and can give me a tip on a place to stay that's affordable I'd appreciate the help. I like Sturgis way better than Daytona because of the great riding in the Black Hills and the amazing entertainment at The Buffalo Chip. But those things are actually outside the rally. The rally is crowds, cops, bike shows, expensive food and vendors. I like the bike shows. For me The Buffalo Chip is everything. This year will be my 7th consecutive annual visit and I hope to be there every year as long as I can draw breath. I do enjoy the Thunder Beach and Myrtle Beach rallies. They seem a little smaller. This makes getting around easier. Prices are not so over-inflated. They don't get the big names like the Chip does but there is good music, beaches and pretty girls. Not counting Sturgis because for me it's really in a class by itself, I would say that my favorite rally is Thunder Beach. |
